A Mall for All

MYTOWN Shopping Centre, covering some 1.1million square feet of retail space, will officially open its doors in November.

Located on Jalan Cochrane, about 3km southeast of Kuala Lumpur, this five-level shopping centre with more than 400 stores is jointly developed by Boustead Holdings Bhd and Ikano Pte Ltd.

MyTown will offer a unique lifestyle experience for the five million people living in the nearby communities to live, work and play.

MyTown general manager Joakim Hogsander said: “Ours is a state-of-the-art shopping centre. We have put in a tremendous amount of effort into visualising and making the customer journey come alive.”

He pointed out that some of the things at MyTown will be distinctly different from other shopping centres in Klang Valley, making it stand out from the rest.

One unique quality that sets MyTown apart from the rest is the focus on the customer journey.

Hogsander explained: “One of the many ideas adapted is the clustering of different retail segments and amenities to ease navigation and increase convenience.

“Parents with young children can expect designated play areas located at different levels to cure their little ones’ boredom, making shopping a fun experience for them.”

Due to the size of the shopping centre, ample washrooms will be built in every segment. There will also be seating areas equipped with mobile phone charging ports, located throughout the mall, to allow shoppers to unwind and charge their phones before continuing their shopping.

The shopping centre is directly accessible via major highways like the NPE, the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Highway, SMART Highway, and the MRR2, with a ramp connection from the MEX highway to the mall’s multi-level carpark, which has over 6,500 parking lots.

Aside from getting to the shopping centre by car, patrons also have the option of taking public transportation, as the centre will have a direct tunnel link to the upcoming Cochrane MRT station.

Among the major tenants that will be setting up shop in this brand new shopping centre are Parkson, Golden Screen Cinemas, Village Grocer, Zara, Mango, Uniqlo and Celebrity Fitness.

According to Hogsander, the shopping centre will also have a two-acre park located nearby, which will host various activities from yoga and busker performancers, to arts and cultural events in support of a community lifestyle within the neighbourhood.
